A meeting of the Workers Rights Board

Our three Organizing Committees in Pierce County, MLK Jr. County, and Whatcom County consist of Jobs with Justice activists who regularly mobilize broad community support for campaigns of our member organizations. Anyone who signs an "I'll Be There" pledge card can participate in the Organizing Committee. The local Organizing Committees initiate local actions that meet the Mission Statement's goals, and reflect the direction the Steering Committee has established.

  • Pierce County

  • The Pierce County Organizing Committee (POC) meets the fourth Tuesday of every month at 6:00 pm at the IBEW Hall, 3049 S. 36th Street in Tacoma. Pierce County Organizing Committee Chairs are Wendy Hall and Adam Mo Hoyt. If you need to contact them by phone: Wendy (253) 341-6347 or Adam (360) 473-8750.

  • Martin Luther King Jr. County
  • While we continue to grow in other Western Washington areas, we are excited about rebuilding in MLK County. We hope you recall JwJ’s role in the 5th Avenue Theater strike, the WTO, Waterfront power marches and rallies, and linking mass peace and immigrant rights protests with worker rights. JwJ did this with an organizing model based on our member organizations and a large pool of volunteers. In MLK County, we can do this again. This is so important to JwJ that the statewide JwJ Executive Board has now begun to directly take action requests for mobilization in MLK County so that we can insure to rebuild this capacity.

Please send action requests to Board Co-chairs Ligaya Domingo (206) 390-1422 and Wendy Hall (253) 341-6347. If you need to contact them by email: ligayadomingo@gmail.com, weh228@gmail.com.

The MLK Jr. County Organizing Committee meets at the Seattle Labor Temple, 2800 1st Ave, in Belltown. The chair is Bob Barnes (206) 841-4650. He prefers phone, but if you need to contact him by email: bargib@labornet.org.

  • Whatcom County

  • The Whatcom County Organizing Committee (WOC) meets the first Tuesday of every month at 6:00 pm at Bellingham's Union Center, 1700 N. State St. WOC Co-chairs are Betsy Pernotto, Marv Prinsen and Carole Jacobson. To reach the Whatcom Co-Chairs by phone: Betsy (360) 647-1752, Marv (360) 961-7490, Carole (360) 734-5019.

To make an action proposal, please see the Guidelines at left. For more information on our Organizing Committees, contact the Organizing Committee Co-chairs. If your planned action is outside of these three counties, please contact a JwJ Executive Board leader or Jobs with Justice staff.
