JwJ Mission Statement
Jobs with Justice is an action-oriented coalition of labor, community and religious organizations working together to build unity and support for the struggles of working people.

Jobs with Justice is a campaign for workers' rights. We believe that all people should have the right to a job and job security; the right to unionize and collectively bargain with their employers; the right to strike; and the right to a decent standard of living.

Jobs with Justice opposes racism, sexism, and homophobia and actively supports struggles against any and all forms of discrimination, whether in the community or on the job.

Jobs with Justice intends to mobilize its members and the community through aggressive, imaginative, direct, non-violent action. During each year, Jobs with Justice members pledge to "be there" at least five times for someone else's fight. That means joining picket lines, attending contract rallies, and participating in other actions or demonstrations in support of workers' rights.

Jobs with Justice does not accept the economic status quo. The erosion of secure, stable jobs; the decline in living standards; cuts in wages and benefits; and the deterioration of the right to organize and strike are primarily the result of a corporate agenda which puts profits before people. Jobs with Justice will challenge corporations that participate in eroding our rights and living standards.

Jobs with Justice does not accept the political status quo. Too many elected politicians ignore the needs of working people in favor of a corporate agenda. The erosion of secure, stable jobs; the decline in living standards; cuts in wages and benefits; and the deterioration of the right to organize and strike are also political problems. Jobs with Justice will challenge politicians who participate, with corporations, in eroding our rights and living standards.

Jobs with Justice believes that government should provide progressively financed public education and services. State and national budget priorities should address the pressing needs of our communities and put people to work rebuilding Washington State. Jobs with Justice opposes any corporate-sponsored attempts to shift the tax burden even further onto the backs of working people, and will fight for progressive tax reform.

Jobs with Justice is part of a national support network for workers' rights. Washington State Jobs With Justice will participate in nationally coordinated activities and support Jobs with Justice coalitions in other parts of the country.
